Anthropic merges Claude chat and Cowork in one interface

What Changed

Anthropic has merged its Claude chat and Cowork front ends into a single interface, allowing users to access chat, Cowork, and Artifacts within one window. The new design automatically routes requests to the appropriate feature without requiring tab or window switches, aiming to reduce confusion over which tool to use. Additional features for creating and editing presentations and documents are rolling out to Pro and Max plans on web, desktop, and mobile, with plans to extend to free and team tiers later.

Why It Matters

Enterprise architects can expect a more streamlined user experience that may reduce training overhead and improve productivity when integrating Claude into workflows. However, the unified interface may still require governance around data handling across the combined features, and the rollout is limited to paid tiers initially, potentially impacting cost and adoption timelines.

The Limitation

The feature rollout is currently limited to Pro and Max plans, so free or team tier users will not immediately benefit from the unified interface or new document tools.

What You Can Do

Begin evaluating the new unified Claude interface by piloting it with a small cross‑functional team to assess usability and integration points with existing document workflows.
